Meet Dr. Shiraz Farooq: A Visionary in Colorectal Care
Dr. Shiraz Farooq is not just a board-certified Colon and Rectal Surgeon; he’s a visionary committed to transforming colorectal healthcare in Tampa, Florida. With over a decade of hands-on medical and surgical experience in Tampa, his medical journey began internationally, where he earned multiple gold medals and accolades for his exceptional skills.
In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Farooq is also the host of the YouTube channel, DaBootyDoc Talk, where he shares valuable insights and discussions on colorectal and gastrointestinal health as well as best treatment options related to medical aesthetics in Tampa, FL.
Passion in the field
His rigorous training includes a five-year surgical residency and a two-year fellowship in Critical Care Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery, completed at esteemed institutions in New York and Ohio. Dr. Farooq’s vision transcends conventional medical practices. He founded ColoWell America to be Tampa’s leading colorectal surgical practice, combining cutting-edge surgical techniques with holistic approaches. ColoWell America is a living testament to his dedication to delivering all-encompassing care for gastrointestinal and colorectal issues.
Dr. Farooq has also expanded his treatment options by getting certified for Alternative Medicine in Florida, recognizing the therapeutic potential of plant medicine.

Stacy Yang – APRN
Stacy Yang is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. She was a hospital bedside nurse in Med/Surg, PCU and ICU for more than 10 years. Stacy completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Central Florida at Orlando and then earned her Master of Science degree at University of South Florida in Tampa. She holds national board certifications with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Stacy speaks Mandarin Chinese and Taiwanese as she is originally from Taiwan. She is a mother of two and enjoys pursuing an adventurous life such as traveling to exotic places, running races, including two half marathons, skydiving, and playing piano.
Sydney Farooq – CEO
Sydney Farooq is a dynamic and visionary CEO, leading ColoWell America, a pioneer in gastrointestinal health solutions. As co-founder of ColoFlax, she worked with Dr. Farooq to develop ColoFlax Flaxseed Fiber Gummies, a world’s first to help improve digestive wellness. Beyond business, Sydney is a talented artist, showcasing her works on her website ViciousArtStudios.com. Sydney’s unwavering dedication is evident in her diligence and relentless work ethic. She’s a staunch patient advocate, driven by her belief in the importance of dietary fiber for GI health. Additionally, Sydney is passionate about the practice of the Ancient Tibetan Five Rites. She shares this yoga-like exercise regimen to help others enhance core muscle strength and overall well-being. Sydney Farooq is not just a CEO and artist but also a holistic health advocate.
Arlette Ramos – Patient Coordinator
Hello, I am Arlette Ramos, Patient Coordinator at ColoWell America.
One day, I promised myself to contribute to making the world a better place. I love working at ColoWell America because it gives me the opportunity to help our patients understand the medical process for greater comprehension and insight into our institution, its function, and its medical scope. In my role at this clinic, I enjoy helping to find the best solutions for our patients and providing the excellent service they deserve.
I have been studying psychoanalysis for seven years because I am fascinated by how the human mind works and aim to enhance relational fluency. This leads to effective work, which is our goal—to provide ideal medical service to meet our patients’ needs.
I studied Art in Photography in Mexico, my home country, and I love exhibiting my photos. I speak Spanish, English, and French.
Alexandra Ramos – Patient Coordinator
Hi I’m Alexandra Ramos and I’m a Patient Coordinator at ColoWell America who is committed to giving the best customer service experience. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and I’m also a certified phlebotomist. Later on I want to pursue Diagnostic Imaging. I love traveling, fishing, cooking and trying new foods. Fun fact about me: As a hobby I’m a music producer.
Yenny Gonzalez – Certified Medical Assistant
Yenny Gonzalez, our Clinical Supervisor, is a doctor from Cuba and a Certified Medical Assistant . She is currently dedicated to preparing for the USMLE exams and holds certifications from the American Boards of Surgical Assistants. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she finds fulfillment in her role at ColoWell America, where she passionately contributes to enhancing people’s health and lifestyle. Yenny is a proud mother of one and has a deep affection for flowers, sunsets, the gym, and elegant red dresses. Her strong work ethic and unwavering focus define her as a dedicated and industrious individual.
Danielle Sliby – Patient Coordinator
I specialize in assisting Alternative Medicine patients at ColoWell America. What I love most about ColoWell America and the like minded people here is that we infuse natural healing modalities into treatments options for our patients. As the Plant-Medicine coordinator, I enjoy contributing to an alternative and innovative health industry.
